The David and Lucile Packard Foundation and the Public Health Institute have partnered to launch the Youth Champions Initiative – an exciting new initiative to advance innovation and quality in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights globally. The Youth Champions Initiative (YCI) will invest in visionary young champions who will lead the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) movement for the next generation.

Thank you to all who applied to the Youth Champions Initiative. We are overwhelmed and inspired by the amazing youth leaders who have applied.


We recieved over 200 applications from India, Ethiopia, Pakistan, and the US states of Louisiana and Mississippi!


Champions will be notified of their acceptance by October 15!


Eighteen Youth Champions will be invited to participate in a week-long incubator in Los Altos, California, USA.


Youth Champions will be supported through capacity building, leadership development, mentorship, project funding (ranging from $8,000 – $12,000) and technical assistance to help launch creative projects improving SRHR in their respective regions of their world.
